OUR PHILOSOPHY
Starr King offers a hands-on learning experience for preschool children --- minimum age 2 years 6 months to
5 years old.
Starr King is committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can explore, create, and thrive. Our approach is rooted in respect for each child’s unique developmental path, fostering a love for learning and a strong foundation for future academic success.
THE POWER OF PLAY
Play-based education is fundamental to early learning and development. Focusing on the whole child, it fosters creativity, critical thinking, and social skills in a natural and engaging way. Through play, children freely explore their environment, develop problem-solving competencies, and learn to interact with peers while connecting new concepts to their experiences.
Free play builds interpersonal skills through communication and collaboration with peers. This hands-on approach also supports emotional regulation and resilience, allowing children to express themselves and navigate adversity. Ultimately, play-based education nurtures a love of learning, laying a strong foundation for lifelong growth and curiosity.
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” - Fred Rogers
