Parent Participation

Nothing is more satisfying than sharing in the excitement of a child as they discover “I can do it.”

Parents are committed to being involved in the following ways:

  • participate one morning a week at the preschool from 8:30 am–12:30 pm
  • parent-education class every Monday 7:00 pm–9:30 pm
  • attend two Environment Days per year
  • work with other parents and alumni at the annual Rummage Sale held in late October

In return for this commitment, you can expect to:

  • talk with other parents and with trained persons about your child’s growth
  • learn more about early childhood education and how vital parents are to the entire school life of their children
  • expand your parenting skills and get help and support for any parenting and/or family problems as they arise
  • learn by observing experienced teachers and other parents working with children
  • achieve some degree of objectivity concerning your child
  • be able to observe your child in relation to a group of youngsters of approximately the same age
  • take part in a cooperative venture, with opportunity for serving on the board in a variety of capacities
  • have some time alone for your own activities while your child is happy in school
  • learn more about family dynamics and develop family communication skills
  • make friends in a nonsectarian group, varied as to education and economic and ethnic character
  • become aware of community resources available to families
